Working on the Family Tree - Overwhelmed with Information

I have been telling everyone about my project and asking them to help me find my relatives around the world. Meanwhile, I have been adding data from Mariet’s book onto the site (check it out). I am still working on it. I need some verification of data and more detail information. For example, I do not have all the last names, and I am missing birth dates, marriage dates and so on. I would appreciate all the help I can get.

I have been in contact with Mariet via email. She is helping me in cleaning up some of the information. Mariet tells me that one of our cousins (Addeh) lives in Dobai. I hope to get in touch with her and her family. My dear cousin, Punik lives in Armenia. She was 5 years old when I last saw her. Mariet tells me that Punik is married with two beautiful children. I would love to see her and her family. Maybe when I travel to Armenia. I plan to do that sometime this year.

I have found one of our relatives in Sydney, Australia (Tina Nazloomian). I have sent her an email and have asked her to assist me on this project.

Roy, thank you for sending me the information. As you know, I have already updated the information on the site. I have not heard from your cousins yet. I am waiting.

Couple of Birthdays this month.

Gaspar Nazloomian - Roy’s father and my Grandfather’s first cousin
Therese Busscher - Sem Nazloomian’s wife. Sem is Gaspar's son and Roy's brother.

Happy birthday to all relatives born in January. Wish you the best in 2006.

Mariet Nazloomian Ancestry Scrap Book

Mariet Nazloomian is my dad's 1st cousin. She is Seth Nazloomian's daughter. Seth Nazloomian is my Grandfather's youngest brother. She wrote a scrap book in 1999 named "History of My Ancestors and I". I was very much inspired by her research and her work. Here, I have scanned some of the pages from her scrap book. Please let me know if you find your or your parents name in the pages.

Apologize for the quality. I plan to redo these scans in the near future.

Nazloom's medicine book

Nazloom was an influential woman and a well known doctor in Julfa, Isfahan. The name of our family was drawn from her name by adding “ian” (from the family of) to the end of her name.

Nazloom wrote a medicine book (above) and passed on her knowledge to her favored grand daughter-in-law Sandookht (top of the page). Sandookht was also a beloved doctor in the community. The street where she lived was dedicated to her name by people and until now the street is named Aroos-Nazloom, “Nazloom's Daughter-in-law” in Persian language.

Julfa was established by Shah Abbass the Great, the king of Iran, in 1605 for Armenians migrating to Iran from their native country of Armenia. The city of Julfa expanded rapidly to include several Armenian Villages. A few decades after its establishment, Julfa turned into not only a great commercial center for merchants, but also a highly developed artisan and cultural center. The first printing press in Middle East was built in Julfa in 1636. Julfa has twenty-four churches, including All Savior’s Monastery which contains sacred stones and relics brought from Etchmiadzin, an early Armenian church in motherland Armenia.
